Welcome to The Society of Chiropractic Doctors of BC (the "Society"). These Terms and Conditions ("Agreement") govern your use of the services provided by the Society and your participation as a member. By joining the Society and making membership payments, you agree to comply with and be bound by this Agreement.
The Society is a nonprofit organization dedicated to provide benefits to BC chiropractic doctors and educate the public about the benefits of chiropractic. Membership in the Society is available through the payment of monthly or annual dues. By purchasing a membership, you agree to these terms.
2.1. Membership is open to individuals who support the mission of the Society.
2.2. Membership is non-transferable and is subject to annual or monthly payment requirements.
3.1. Payment Options: Members may choose between monthly or annual payment plans. The applicable fees for membership are available on the Society’s website or through direct communication with the Society.
3.2. Billing: Payments will be automatically billed on a recurring basis, either monthly or annually, based on the member option choosen. All payments must be made via the payment methods accepted by the Society, which may include credit cards, debit cards, PayPal, or other accepted methods.
3.3. Late or Failed Payments: If a payment is late or fails, the Society reserves the right to suspend or terminate your membership until all outstanding dues are paid in full.
3.4. Changes to Membership Dues: The Society reserves the right to modify membership dues. Any changes will be communicated to current members at least 30 days before they take effect. Members will have the option to cancel their membership if they do not agree with the new dues.
4.1. Cancellation by the Member: You may cancel your membership at any time by providing written notice to the Society. Cancellation will take effect at the end of the current billing period, and you will not receive a refund for any unused portion of the billing cycle.
4.2. Cancellation by the Society: The Society reserves the right to terminate or suspend your membership at any time for any reason, including violations of this Agreement or conduct that is inconsistent with the mission and values of the Society.
All membership fees are non-refundable, except where required by law or in cases of extenuating circumstances as determined at the sole discretion of the Society’s Board of Directors.
Members are entitled to the benefits and services specified by the Society at the time of membership. The Society reserves the right to add, modify, or remove any benefits at any time, with notice to members.
7.1.Privacy: The Society values your privacy and will use your personal information only in accordance with its Privacy Policy, which forms part of this Agreement.
7.2. Communication: By becoming a member, you consent to receive communications from the Society, including newsletters, updates, and event invitations. You can opt out of certain communications at any time. This includes email, text message, phone calls or mail.
The Society, including its officers, directors, employees, and agents, will not be liable for any direct, indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages arising from or related to your membership in the Society, participation in events, or the use of the Society’s services, to the extent permitted by law.
You agree to indemnify and hold harmless the Society and its affiliates, officers, directors, and employees from any claims, liabilities, damages, or expenses (including reasonable attorney's fees) arising out of your breach of this Agreement or your use of the Society’s services.
10. Force Majeure
Neither party will be liable for inadequate performance to the extent caused by a condition (for example, natural disaster, act of war or terrorism, riot, labor condition, governmental action, and Internet disturbance) that was beyond the party’s reasonable control.
This Agreement will be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of British Columbia, Canada, without regard to its conflict of law principles.
Any disputes arising out of or related to this Agreement shall be resolved through good faith negotiations. If such negotiations fail, the dispute shall be settled by binding arbitration in Richmond BC, in accordance with the appointment and rules of the Vancouver International Arbitration Centre https://vaniac.org/.
The Society reserves the right to amend or modify this Agreement at any time. Any changes will be communicated to members at least 30 days prior to taking effect. Continued membership in the Society after such notice constitutes acceptance of the new terms.
If any provision of this Agreement is found to be unenforceable or invalid, that provision shall be limited or eliminated to the minimum extent necessary so that the remaining provisions of this Agreement shall remain in full force and effect.
